Pyrolox®
is a naturally mined manganese dioxide mineral. This mineral has
been used for years as
a means for treating iron, hydrogen sulfide and manganese. This
process is accomplished without
the use of any chemical for regeneration. Only periodic
backwashing is required. The mineral is
very heavy so sufficient backwash water must be available to
clean the oxidized material out
of the bed. Chlorine can be added to enhance the catalytic
reaction.
